Well People,
I have now joined the ranks of fellow fly tyers. I haven't done much except #16 and #18 TBH midges yet but, I'll be giving it a go here shortly. I think I'll take some classes so I can get a one on one lesson from a local fly shop. I have figured out how to use a Materelli whip finisher from some online tutorials. I also have pretty much got the wire ribbing part down pretty well on my Renzetti Traveler rotary. Now the next goal is the famous crackleback.

I can't wait to get in on the conversation on this section more.

Good to see you posting in this section of FAOL. Now that you are here, I can tell you that there will always be one more thing that you want to learn. One more material to master. One more book to read. One more fly pattern to try. It's never ending and truly wonderful! 8T :)

BTW, I think you'll pick up the Crackle Back pretty quickly.

If you have any questions as you go, Ask them! Even if you think the question is stupid, ask it anyway.:D

Welcome to our community, as Chris said - ask questions no matter what about fly tying, I have learnt so much already from this 'family of tiers' and I always feel a bit of a dunce when asking questions -- but if you don't ask you don't learn. happy 2008 Rich, the year you start learning heaps more about an age old craft.

That crackle back is also about one step/material away from a elk/deer hair caddis. And I know your affinity for those.
