Need Sage TCR line recommendations
Hi my friends:
I haven't been online for a while, but its to be understood since in the southern hemisphere our season has just begun! Still, a warm hello and best wishes for a GREAT thanksgiving to all!
Now on to my question:
Does anyone have a line recommendation for the Sage TCR 6wt rod? I use SA stillwater lines and intermediate sink lines for my lake work mostly, so think in that direction. Would you over-line the rod? Who has experience with it and can shed some light?
Thanks in advance amigos!

Re: Need Sage TCR line recommendations
I would try a SA GPX since it's 1/2 line size heavier, it would help to load the TCR properly.
Re: Need Sage TCR line recommendations
Well, Sage would probably recommend their Sage Performance Taper II. I haven't used a TCR with the current performance Taper II, but I tried them with the original Performance Taper I and they seem very well matched- that is 6wt rod with 6wt Performance Taper line and so on. It works fine with a GPX also. Or a lot of other 6wt lines.
Going to a line a 1/2 size heavier such as the GPX doesn't do much more than extending a standard 6wt line another couple of feet.
Re: Need Sage TCR line recommendations
We each own a 5wt and a 8wt TCR. We do not over or under line either of them. We do use WF on them though.
Re: Need Sage TCR line recommendations
The Cortland 555 Dyna-Tip is slightly heavier - ten grains. It's also a low-memory line.
If there's any way you can try different lines to see what works for you, I would suggest
doing it. Each caster is different.

Hi Randy:
Fortunately I have a bunch of lines to try.
Thanks for the input!
