trout streamer
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...1Image0008.jpg
i tied this fly and have used this fly with fabulous success for the trout in the local lake
it may not look very durable but i have reinforced the peacock herl with super glue under it and it stands up very well!
recipe
hook:any streamer (im using a mustad ac9672)
thread:black 6/0 or 8/0 (here im using red 6/0)
tail: amherst pheasant tippet
body:peacock herl
wing:amherst pheasant tippet
collar:peacock herl
bead: glass seed bead
maybe you would want to try this fly in your waters and see if it works for you???
also is there another pattern like it??

Re: trout streamer
it looks like it would be a really good pattern for our local brookies...and maybe even some of the sea-run brows and rainbows you can find. A very nice, simple and effective fly...I like it! 8)

Re: trout streamer
Peacock is a proven material. You were smart to keep it simple also. You could experiment with this fly by using a metal bead or using a foam underbody to float it.
Good imagination!
