Dave,
I really enjoyed The Crick. I found myself reading it several times.

Re: The Crick
Thanks very much Dave. Brought back very fond, recent memories.
A few years ago I met two of my sons in Missoula, (one from near here in northern Michigan and one from Seattle) and we fished for two days in beautiful Rock Creek. What a thrill. My two boys fished well and caught many fish on the flies I'd tied for the occasion, while my catch results were pretty slim. That should tell me something! It was a wonderful experience.
After they left I enjoyed my birthday present from them. A day's float on the Bitteroot and another days float on the Madison.
Thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
Thanks for taking me back to Rock Creek. I won't get there, but that'd be my No. 1 place for a return trip. Thanks again.

Re: The Crick
Thanks, guys. I appreciate the kind words. There are pics now which I think help the story along.

Re: The Crick
Nice piece Dave, although it's still strange to imagine you in a stream rather than in the surf.
Oh, didja get the door fixed?

Re: The Crick
Dave,
Very well written article. Your articles have always been well done...whether they were written before or after you you moved to this great state of Montana. One of these days I gotta drag myself over to that area and do a bit of fishing. I love fishing some of the smaller and less known waters of Montana (and to think its not too far of a drive from the Boze area LOL).

Re: The Crick
Dave,
Bless you another thousand times! You mentioned the addition of photos so I went back for a re-read. Even better!
Your "Wolfsburg Thunderbird" struck a chord in my head. With six kids and a German Shepherd, we had a VW bus for about ten years. However, we DIDN'T take it to Rock Creek - from northern Michigan.
And I was surprised to see photos of brown trout. All we caught, a few years ago, was cutts. (Beautiful fish!) We'd hoped for a bull trout but weren't really disappointed that none showed up.
What a beautiful "crick"!!!
Again, thanks very much.
This year I'll settle for little brookies, the little beauties, in nearby "cricks".
