Rainbow Renewal
J Castwell/Ladyfisher:
I must say I was pleasantly surprised when the Editor of Canadian Fly Fisher, Chris Marshall, asked if it was ok to post my story on your website, and I was particularly honoured that you posted it during Memorial Week. I wrote the story about six months ago as my pending retirement tribute to the many excellent Canadian soldiers I?ve had the privilege of serving with over the last 20 years. And, by extension, it was my way of honouring all those, Canadian or Allied, that have lost their lives since that tragic day in Sep.
What I didn?t realize when I wrote it, was just how prophetic the story would be. As fate would have it, my unit has asked me to go on one more overseas tour before I retire. So starting this summer I will be passing on some great fly fishing, and once again my wife and kids will sacrifice, as I serve in Kandahar Afghanistan.
Again, my thanks. Tight lines!!

We were delighted to bring your wonderful story to our worldwide readers. Many in this country (US) are not aware so many of our Canadian neighbors are also serving in the Middle East. Thank You!
