Recent thread....and after I read it I couldn't resist ordering some....in the mail to me as we speak...from Dot Man a sponsor here....check out the thread....
Bought a bottle from Jerry (Dotman). Works great! Really does a great job of cleaning and treating the line. I was using Renew, but Zipcast seems to do a better job of reducing friction.Quote:

Take a disposable cloth towel (an old white t-shirt would work well)and cut it into pieces about an inch and a half square. I put a bunch in an old Altoids tin and keep that and the bottle of Zip Cast in a ziplock bag in my wader bag. When you clean your line, take a piece of cloth and put 3 or 4 drops on the cloth and pinch it on the line as you strip it off the reel while it is still attached to the reel seat. I strip the line onto my pickup's tailgate to keep it out of the dirt. When you get all the line through the patch, flip the patch over, pinch around the line, and reel the line back on as you guide it with your fingers that are pinching the patch.
Applying the Zip Cast this way is very convenient, and will make the bottle last a VERY long time. This method takes me almost exactly two minutes to do (yeah, I timed it), and I actually do clean my line after every day's fishing. Sure is nice to start out the day with a clean, slick line every time!.......Ed
Max,
If you are coming to the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset, New Jersey Jan 26-28, I will be there and will have a ZipCast demo setup so please stop by if you are there.

Thanks for the info Jerry. I was looking for your name on the exhibitor list last night but didnt see it.
Joe,
You got me curious so I checked the web site. They have me listed under my company name, Brumfield Enterprises. See you there.

Its good stuff alright. I have some and have been happy with it.
Last year at Fly Fish Texas we did a test on a "guinea pig" line that had been abused on the Gulf of Mexico and left on an old reel. The paper towel we used looked awfully grody afterward and the line was like new. So I was impressed.

Great stuff! Jerry's ethics wouldn't allow him to put his "stamp" on anything but top quality.
