yep i just got a bunch of that stuff, but i dont kno how to use it :( when i take the thread core out, the stuff just falls apart cuz all it is is woven tinsel and it will fall apart.
Here's one:

i like the first one 8)
I tie it on a little different than the folks in those articles... I tie it on at the eye, but with the bulk of it sticking out PAST the eye. A bobbin with a long tube helps me tie without tangling into the tubing sticking out to the right (start with a section of tubing a bit longer than you need for one fly).
Once the tubing is tied on, whip finish or add some half hitches and either snip off the thread or wind it to the back of the fly.
Then, just push the tubing onto the fly and it'll turn inside out as you go. The inside looks just like the outside and this method gives a nice neat head up by the eye. (you can tie right up against the eye of the hook this way instead of having a couple turns of thread showing the way the articles describe doing it).
If you're having trouble getting the tubing to turn inside out and go onto the fly, insert a pencil or piece of dowel that's a loose fit. That keeps the tubing's round shape and lets it slide right onto the fly.
After I tie off near the tail, I usually won't clip the extra. I just let it fray and become part of the fly's tail since I'm usually tying a minnow pattern when I'm using that tubing.
I don't build up a big underbody though you can add weight (add it to the top and the hook will ride with the point up, clouser style, so you can let your minnow bump along the bottom if you want).
I tied some of these for one of Parnelli's beginners swaps a year or so ago...marabou for the tail, weight on top if desired (I think the swap ones were unweighted), tie the tubing against the eye, turn it inside out, tie off above the barb, fray the left overs to add flash to the marabou tail.
You can color the tubing with permanent markers and it'll still look that same color when you turn it inside out (though some always seems to come off on my fingers).
well i just figured i'd tie sumthin usin that stuff, so i did, and heres the result:
