Duck Feathers
Well, it's that time of year in MN when the trout season closes  - but the duck season opens :D
I usually wind up with more feathers than I need - and it pains me to throw any away, so.....
I'm willing to clip wings, pull feathers and send them to you "as is". (Sorry, the CDC is already spoken for) Early in the year, there are very few good flank feathers - success around here is spotty later in the year..... We generally shoot Mallards, Teal, Bluebills and the occasional goose.
Let me know if you would like any. I'll try to fill as many requests as I can in the order received.

I appreciate your generous offer and would be delighted to take advantage of it. I'll take some of anything and any species you're willing to part with. Flank and some wing primaries are of particular interest but I'll take any feathers you want to give up. Let me know when you need an address and I'll PM you.
Thanks

Duck Feathers.
MN Fisher:
In regards to your post on giving other tyers your excess duck feathers. Like you I hunt. I am retired and usually get in a lot of hunting time and kill in excess of 90 ducks and about 20 honks each year. Also like you I hate to see the feathers go to waste and I have sent them all over the US to other tyers. It is a fun thing for me to do and I get a degree a satisfaction by sharing. Had I known that fellow wanted goose wings I could have fixed him up as my partner and I killed 9 of them a couple of weeks ago (Oregon has an early season goose hunt). I saved the CDC from the geese plus a few of the black tail feathers. I gave the tail feathers away on FAOL a few days ago.
You said that your CDC was spoken for. Well I gave most of the CDC from the geese to Ducksterman, but still have a little left. If you want it you can have it. All I need is a mailing address.
Another item of interest. If you have not tried mudhen (coot) feathers by all means do so. They make some interesting bugs.

I would love to have some your excess. A mixture is fine here. Let me know what the postage would be, and I'll send you some money. Just PM me when you're ready.

I would gratefully take advantage of your generous offer! I'll send you a mailing address and even reimburse you for the postage. I guess just send a PM and I'll return my email and mailing address? Thank you. :)
