Quick question to all you tiers who spin deer hair -- I've got half of a mule deer skin split longways. Which part, if any, of this hide would be the best hair to spin? Thanks in advance.

I second that suggestion. Chris is a friend of mine and a world renowned deer hair expert. I think he can even find a use for a deer's ear hairs!

The best spinning hair will come from the center of the back on most hides. Down to about mid chest. And from mid neck to about 8 inches up the hide from the tail. It will be the longest and most hollow.
I know Chris quit well and these floks are right. I have done a show or two with him and guided both he and his great wife while they were out here at conclave and fishing. Do read his articles they are well done with very good information. Ron
