Cabela's Gathering
:D
On Saturday October 28th 2006 the 2007 Fish-In "Planning Committee" will meet at the Dundee Cabela's store to shop til we drop!! All attendee's are invited to have dinner at Loma Linda's Mexican Resturant out by the Toledo Airport that evening, dutch treat of course! Some of us will stay overnight in Toledo and head back home on Sunday after breakfast.
We'll meet upstairs in the cafeteria at 10:30 am for coffee and lies. Then lunch and shopping til at least 4 pm.
Most of us know each other so firsttimers should just look for table full of guy's having a good time.
If I remember I'll make a sign.
P.S. This will be the first meeting of the "Committee" and all who attend are sitting members!! JC is the "Chairman" and all plans will be forwarded to him for approval.

It's our 1st official planning meeting for the 2007 Michigan Fish-In. We plan on improving from this year...and that's a TALL order!

Just tag me as the PLO...perminent latren orderly. I'll start at the bottom and work my way up.

jonezee;
Can you make all the seats snap to attention? That will get you promoted to "Executive Director" instantly!!
-
:D
Jonezee has suggested the "Wilderness Bar and Grill" next door to Cabela's which will fit right in with those returning that evening. He is now an "Executive Director" of the planning committee!! Sort of a down grade from PLO (permenent latrine orderly). Ah well.
-
Jack, I guess you have seen the movie too. The snap to attention brought the house down if you every viewed it in a theater.

:D
jonezee has suggested the Wilderness Bar & Grill next to Cabela's as a place for the group to have dinner. "Local Knowledge" is a must on outings like this and must be rewarded! I feel that a promotion to "Executive Director" is in order!! That and $2.50 will probably buy him a "Pop" there!! He is also going to get (get, heck, steal!!) a menu so we can make our dinner choices early. This could also lead to another promotion, CFO "Chief Food Officer"!
Ladies & gents we have a Rising Star here!!

Jack-Still no menu from Kim the manager of the Wilderness Bar & Grill in Dundee. I have done some research on line and found the following reviews.Doesn't look too good....

This place like the others around it... was not built for the people of Dundee, rather as a compliment for Cabela's business overflow. The food is decent, the beer is reasonable , mixed drinks a little pricey...but still better than the wallet raping of Applebees next door. They dont cram too many tables and bar stools like Applebees does not caring about your comfort ,but rather how many people they can "process" . They have Keno too.

January 01, 2005 How can this business survive?By Pat
Pros: There are no pros to this place
Cons: Service was as bad as i have ever had. just a bunch of kids who could care less..
We stopped on New Years eve for drinks. The service was about as bad as i have ever experienced in my life and i go out to eat alot. We sat at a table and no one came near us for at least 15 min. i asked the hostest for some one to get a drink and she said she would send a waitres over. after anothe 5 min a lady came over who looked to be a manager. She asked if we had been helped. after telling her what had gone down she said she would send someone over. No one came again. At this time i was ready to leave but my wife and her friend said just hang on. Now we have been there for 20 min at least and still hadnt ordered or had anyone ask what we wanted. After asking again for a waitrest she took our order. Our drinks were set out on the bar and i finally had to get up go to the hostest and ask her to bring them to our table as my beer was getting warm. The bad thing was this bar wasnt even half full. But when you hire a bunch of kids who would rather stand around and shoot the breeze than do the job they are getting paid for this is what you get. I wouldnt recomend this bar to someone i didnt like. The service was pathetic and no one including the manager seemed to care. if you stop at this hole good luck and i hope you arent thirsty.

Mind you these are a year old and that was about the last time I was there. I went there about three o'clock in the afternoon and must admit it was sometime before we were waited on too. Just thought it was a fluke thing. The last thing I need is a lynching party because we all had a horrible time trying to get something to eat. Since I have been intrusted with locating a dinning spot, I am searching elsewhere and will keep you and the team advised. Faithfully, Jonezee
