Lillian?
I'm not sure of the proper spelling but I hope that I'm close. What is the Lillian made of at the end of the rod? I've been watching you tube videos of tenkara fishing and it looks very cool to me, but I don't really know anything about it.
Thanks in advance,
hNt

Something like backing I think. If you have the itch to give it a try scratch it. I bet you'll like it.

Its made of a braided material. Most likely dacron. I am sure Chris Stewart (Tenkara Bum) will have an more exact answer.
As far as Tenkara goes, I just bought my first kit. I've been fly fishing a very, very long time, and was a bit hesitant. But after reading about it, I decided to give it a go. Although in not any particular order of importance, here are some excellent links for you to explore.

I have fished a couple of bluegill ponds and will be taking my Tenkara outfit with me to CO.

The lillian is a hollow nylon braid.

AnglerDave gives some good links, but be warned when you go to Tentontenkara be prepared to stay there awhile.
