Auckland on a Tuesday
Hi Guys, I took a visitor from the UK out for a fish after work yesterday, we started off at Point Chev in the upper harbor but the water was very murky and no luck so we moved to Meola reef, a volcanic reef that juts out two thirds of the way into the upper harbor, surrounded by mud flats and very tidal, we managed one small Snapper each, Charlie's first NZ fish, then I got a keeper, Charlie wanted one for the table so it was dispatched and I am informed went very well on the bbq!
Charlie had to leave about 4:30 but I fished on rather than face the drive home in rush hour. For about an hour and a half the action was constant a fish every two to three casts, mostly small but a few good ones in amongst them.
By the time I finally called it a day I must have landed 20+ fish, sure beats being at work!
Here's a couple of fish

Not big fish, but considering that Meola has been a total failure so far this year a good sign of things to come.
All the best
