Roger, I understand why you keep your distance from the parades AND New Orleans.
Mardi Gras has become a big deal way up here in the Northwest corner of the state also. Not so back in '68 when I first arrived here.
Great article! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your take on Mardi Gras. Fact is that I enjoy all of your articles and am looking forward to your book being released.

I was in "Naw'lins" back in the early nineties as a demo tyer for the FFF conclave. Even though it wasn't "the big party", the place was nuts. I did, however, go out to the bayous and gorged myself on crawfish, crabs and shrimp....oh yeah, and lots of beer.
Roger's story brought back a few memories, and even though I probably wouldn't care much to attend said party, I would like to spend a few weeks chasing redfish and eatin' Cajun specialties!
