EDIT
BAH! i am so noobish with forums. Well since i can't change titles.. i guess this thread could go either way.

and
who have tried F Fly patterns?

Kenstah,
I found my hook distributor on Ebay, but now I buy from him directly. I find the hooks to be of good quality as well as inexpensive ($68/1000).
I like that little fly. More of a 'style' than a 'pattern', I can see it in many guises.
I like simple and it will certainly be effective on just about any waters.
Thanks for sharing that one.

Never used the hooks. But the f fly has to be one of the most popular flies here in the uk. its used on rivers and stillwaters with great results. Watch Oliver Edwards tie it on the youtube link and give a bit of its history.

Davie McPhail ties a slightly different version of the F-Fly. Not sure if that makes it a variant or a different fly all together. It's on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/DavieMcP...18/FUiIWTXRfno

REE - If you go to Google images and type in CDC Caddis you will get a lot of flies that look close the one you cited. Guess it don't matter what it is called as long as it catches fish.
