I'm not sure if you're referring to Striped Bass in the ocean or for the freshwater ones. For saltwater I use a Lefty's Deciever size 2/0. The color is mostly white, but I add a couple of grizzly hackles across the back as well as a few strands of Krytal Flash. I use this one pattern for 90% of my striper fishing.
Clousers and deceivers are the basic striper flys and all you really need.
While there are many, many others, I most often fish snake flys, Ray's fly, flat wings, gurglers and blondes.
