Montana Bucktail SBS
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/...psf56e256a.jpg
Nothing fancy here - old school, orange; seems like a cutt fly. May have originally been tied with a bucktail wing (hence, the name) but all recipes I've found call for deer or elk hair.
hook - TMC 5212 #8
thread - UTC 140 burnt orange
rib - x-small wire gold
tail - golden pheasant tippets
abdomen - dubbing orange (Uni-stretch/floss optional)
hackle - grizzly (undersized by 2)
wing - deer hair
Part 1
Mash down barb, start thread about 2 eye widths back from front; tie in rib and wrap back to point above barb

measure (gap width back from bend) GP tippets; tie in, cover with thread and return to tie-in

Part 2
clean, stack, measure (tips to halfway point of the tail) a clump of deer hair
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/...ps79d251ff.jpg
tie in with a few firm wraps, then take a few wraps through the butts (helps lock the wing on top where you want it); trim butts

http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/...ps13f692d1.jpg
cover your butts, whip finish, SHHAN; pull out a gazetteer and find some little blue lines
