My friend, unless you already speak the language, that will probably be your biggest challange. My brother in law is a banker for Chase and speaks fluent Spanish. He was transfered to Brazil and as he said...what a language! We had an exchange student (girl) from Portugal when our kids where in high school, never a mention about fly fishing there. I have only fished in Austria, the attractor flies I used here in the states did fine over there. The only issue was the water was sometimes tubulent from rainfall. You will find in Europe there isn;t much forest/grazing land ground cover. When it rains it is run off time. Try going on line and google Portugal Fly Fishing. You may be surprised. Good luck and don't forget to try the Porto, they are famous for fine Port. I envy you, Jonezee

I'm pretty sure they speak Portugeuse in Portugal and Brazil.
