Turkey leech?
I asked this on the board where it was mentioned, but this is probably the proper place to ask.
Can you tell me the dressing for a conehead turkey leech? The conehead part is quite understandable, but I don't know the rest. Is it a marabou(turkey) fly?, or tied with leech yarn? and turkey biot tails? wing? or antennae?
Thanks much for any help.

Re: Turkey leech?
I'm bumping this because I'm a tad desparate! (Not sure how you do that but I seem to be doing it.)
I've searched many web sites that provide fly dressings, Googled several "names", but still haven't found a dressing for the conehead turkey leech! The "conehead" part I can figure - a conehead weight appropriate to the hook size. The rest of the dressing has me stumped. Since turkeys are the source of today's marabou is the fly basically marabou? Or might it be leech yarn with turkey biots for tails, wings, or antennae?
Apparently the fly is a "go to" in the Wisconsin driftless area, an area my wife and I plan to visit this sumer when we visit our daughter in Madison, WI. I've checked area fly shops online without finding the answer. Someone here MUST know the dressing. PLEASE help.
Thanks very much.

Re: Turkey leech?
Marabou today comes from turkeys. Once upon a time marabou came from African storks. Try searching for just a marabou leech.
One such pattern is found at:
http://www.westfly.com/patterns/wet/marabouleech.shtml
When I tie the marabou leech I place a black or clear glass bead on first.
Of course you could put a conehead on.
I tie in three medium sized clumps of marabou.
One at the tail one in the middle and the last up aginst a glass bead.
It's an easy fly to tie and a productive one.

Littlebrook,
Looks like the [url=http://208.109.52.43/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=20027&sid=6d60eb076b2a3ccbff9e4d35 1d71c307:cefda]Turkey Leech[/url:cefda] has the tail of a Wooly Bugger and palmered marabou body like a Popsicle. Not that much different from the venerable Hal Jansen Leech which ELBFF mentioned. If they are taking these, I imagine a Bunny or Squirrel Leech would probably work as well.
