World's Biggest Beaver Dam, can be seen from satellites in space. The beaver dam is located on the southern edge of Wood Buffalo National Park in Northern Alberta, Canada located in Wood Buffalo National Park in Northern Alberta, Canada. The beaver dam is 2,790 feet in length. That is almost twice the length of the Hoover Dam. Beaver dams are good for the land and the environment. The pools caused by the Beaver Dams help wildlife survive droughts.
We have lost much of our wet lands to drainage tiles, to extend farm acerage... wetland are the nurseries for much of our wildlife. Wetland are also sponges to absorb water from heavy rainfalls, so that streams and rivers are less likely to flood.

beaver Dams were around long before fly fishermen, they are a natural part of the ecosystem. my thought is every time man thinks he knows more than nature, nature proves him wrong. my vote is fish around them, watch them and enjoy them.
Just my thoughts

(nice pics!) ~ I've caught a lot of trout around beaver dams in days past. Incrediable skills on the part of those little hairy, tail slapping buggers!
So much of the natural landscape of our country has been destroyed by "progress".
