Robin,
Here is some info;http://www.mackdays.com/flathead_lake_anglers_page_.htm
Flathead Lake Regs; Applies to entire water body:
Hook and Line: up to 2 attended lines with no more than 2 hooks per line.
A Flathead Indian Tribal Permit is required to fish on the southern half of the lake.
Lake trout: 50 daily and in possession, only 1 over 36 inches, and all fish 30 to 36 inches must be released.
Catch-and-release for cutthroat trout.
Charter Service;http://www.flatheadlakecharters.com/
I watched a Flathead Fishing Show a while back and the Guide fished 4 lines with downriggers & sideplaners for Lake Trout.
Doug
Lakestream Flyfishing http://www.lakestream.com/ and Stumptown Anglers http://www.stumptownangler.com/ in Whitefish; Arends Fly Shop in Colombia Falls (406) 892-2033 and Two River Gear in Bigfork (406) 837-3474 should be able to help. Could be a good time to get some pretty big lakers.
Regards,
Scott
