Hey Gardenfish,
I recently received a Diamondback from
Cortland, one of FAOL's sponsors. It's my
first Diamondback but I'm loving it. Two of
my buddies are ordering one as well after
casting mine. It's sweet!*G* They have
some deeply discounted models at present.
Hard to beat at those prices. Warm regards,
Jim
I am your Aeroflex guru, at least in the 4 and 5 weights. I have fished my DB Aeroflex for 5 years and it is my go to rod. One of the lightest and smoothest 5 wt rod I have ever cast, nothing else close. I loved the 5 wt so much, I bought the 4 wt without casting it. Nice rod, but not in the same class as the 5. I have also cast the five piece versions and find them both heavy and stiff. For comparisons to other rods, some attributes of the Sage XP and the T&T Vector. Faster than the Vector and about the same as the Sage. Feels alot like a overlined TCR. At todays close out prices these are a steal. As a matter of fact, I am now looking for a 6 weight in the same 3 pc configuration. Let me know if you know of one. As far as the 5 weights, there is one on Ebay now, a 8'6" 3 pc 5 wt with a buy it now of $160.
Email if you need more info.

Jim and Bill, thank you for taking the time to post. I have been attracted to that rod for some time and found one for $150.00, unused. I sent the fellow an email just a minute ago. That rod will suit my purposes just fine. Thanks, gentlemen.
