I have a J. Austin Forbes Magnesium in my 2mwt and really like it. It only weighs 2.2 oz and is a well made reel. You need to shop around a bit to find them on sale, but it's worth it. Just one more choice...

I have Battenkills I &II and love them...durable and reasonable but I have never done any weight comparisons, just whether or not they balanced with the rods I used them on. I also have Ross Gunnisons which have also been excellent reels.
Take a look at the Abel TR1 reel. I have had mine for years and found the TR series of click and pawl reels by Abel to be outstanding.

I like the Battenkill a lot. But if you can find a Cortland Retro 1...that would be my choice.
You haven't mentioned whether you desire a mid arbor or large arbor reel.
I have moved to the large arbor reels in most cases.
I really like the Lamson Guru series. Well made and moderately priced for what you get.
