anybody download firefox 3 browser and having problems with it??
slow performance??
I did, and am not having any problems. If I do, I figure I can always reinstall the old version.
Downloaded it and haven't had a single problem...it's running on all cylinders.
Runs great for me.
I'm having a real slowdown when it first loads up after turning on the computer---once it is up and running it goes fine. I'm running Norton Antivirus and I really think that much of the slowdown may be that but I'm also wandering about the amount of web history that the new browser keeps track of....I'm a pretty heavy user so that also may be part of the problem.

Downloaded it, when it was first a "Beta" version, now have the latest download and I've noticed at times, it will "hesitate", for a very short time, (Beta didn't do this), almost like a "stutter", or "Hiccup".
But,it's not all the time, only on occasion so no big deal. I noticed it did, improve, when I dumped "pre-fetch" and cleaned out my history and most cookies after each session.
My computer is on line, 24/7, never shut off unless I reboot for some, needed, reason. When I used to shut the computer down, after each use even with FF#2.5 then restart, I'd get this "slow hesitation" action more often.
Normand,
Are you using a PC or a MAC? If a PC, what operating system and anti-virus?
For those of you using the newest version of AVG shut off the link scanner in your AVG user interface. This will speed up your browsing. If you are keeping your anti-virus updated you really should not need this feature. I update my anti-virus prior to every time I log onto the internet for the day.
Fixed.....
I finally got off my butt and went googling the support forums until I found a fix. The fix described by "anonymous" toward the bottom of the page worked well for me. It turns off the "Session Restore" feature. My Firefox is back to normal startup speed again.

BTW, the google search term that worked for me was: "Firefox 3 slow to start"
Here's what anonymous had to say:Trying disabling session restore, I was strugling with the same problem, now it seems to be fixed.BW
In Firefox's address bar, type in about:config and then hit enter
Enter browser.sessionstore.enabled and click OK
Change to false and then click OK
When you restart Firefox, session restore (and undo close tab) will be disabled and you should notice an improvement in browsing speed.
