Colored Scud Back Material
Colored Scud Back. I just got some good super strong material for many uses and it was not a dollar a yard. The wife was making Easter Baskets. The grass is great. At a dollar a bag I have enough in one bag to make a few million flies. I know many others have probably found this out already. I always tell my students to look at everything they see as potenial fly tying materials. I took my own advice on this one. John

Re: Colored Scud Back Material
Bassman,
I'm just curious what colors you found. Normally, I find several shades of green and a pink color. Have you had any luck with other colors like olive or brown? 8T :D
Re: Colored Scud Back Material
I have found Green, Pink, Purple, and White. But you can color them with a sharpy. John
Re: Colored Scud Back Material
I had a funny feeling that natural earth tones like brown, olive, gray, and black might not be popular Easter colors. Great idea about adding a little color with the Sharpie. Thanks, John ET :D
Re: Colored Scud Back Material
Your welcome ET. If I do find other colors I will let you know. John
Re: Colored Scud Back Material
hmmm...I just finished tying some sparkle caddis emergers with Easter Egg grass for the under body. Since I have a bunch of it still lying around, using it as a scud back sounds like an idea. Thanks guys.
