Cool flies! Are they supposed to imitate anything in particular? What kind of conditions do you like to use'em under? I'd love to see a recipe and a nice close up photo!
the fly is the Electric Dread and is in the archives on this forum in FOTW...pattern has changed slightly but 90% is still the same...I use it under most conditions which for me ranges from 8" to 6' on the flats but 90% of my fishing is done in 1-3ft of water...without the bead chain they can be used in under 1ft...I have caught everything I have ever tried to catch with them ranging from huge redfish, freshwater exotics, peacock bass, over 200 bones and several permit and tarpon and snook...I have produced 3 grand slams of the big 3 on a single dread...to me it is the best fly going...it imitates shrimp/crabs/spiny lobster depending on hackle size and presentation
Dangit... I need to look at this saltwater board more often. Those flies kick butt, man. I'm trying to find a reason to tie 'em though. Might be good to throw at carp?
sweet...I bet they would work...trout and salmon also cant resist
