Kneeling with a downstream approach?

Or from the side approach?

I would cast the first fly into the overhanging tree, catch the vegetation behind me on the second, slap the water with the third fly, putting the fish down. then I would precede to ruin the environment with my swearing, and move on to the next hole. of course, I would look downstream just in time to see my fishing buddy catch a 17" trout out of the hole.
Maodiver, remember that you never cast "upstream and across" with a duPont Spinner...
Although they may float, I think duPont Spinners are considered "wets", or "popping bugs".

Doesn't look like the same place on both photos and doesn't look like you can fish all the lies with a single approach.
I'd first fish downstream to avoid casting on or over fish on this narrow a stream. I'd especially fish the lip of the pool this way first.
Then I would leave and fish another area and fish it upstream when I came back.
maodiver NAILED it! That's exactly how I would fish it!
From the first picture, I would cross downstream and fish from the other side from where the angler is kneeling. I would fish the narrow part at the bottom. Then I would work up to the pool, fishing the bottom first, then the middle, then the top. That way, to avoid casting over, or 'lining' the fish. Also to be careful of where the sun is in the sky to avoid putting a shadow on the water.

I'm using one of my Tenkara rods here with loads of fun to be had. I find fishing multiple angles and positions yield differing results.
