Line for a 7 wt
I have a Winston IM6 9' 7 weight that I will use primarily for bass -- streamers & bugs and would appreciate some suggestions for a line to match to this rod. Most of my other lines are Wulff TT (4,5,8). Is the Wulff bass taper the way to go or is there a better option? Thanks Dave

The Wulff BB is a great line.

I would think that if you like the Wulff lines then stay with that. While I have no personal experience with their line, I have used bass bug taper line from both Scientific Anglers and Cortland and have been satisfied with both. Currently I'm using Cortland's SL in a 7wt bbt. I try and buy local and that's all I could find.
Another alternative may be RIO's Clouser. I have that on my 8wt and have no complaints.

Hello Spike-2,
I use the Mastery Series Bass Bug Taper by SA (7 wt) and have been very pleased with it. It handles large bugs well and after three years of use it is still in excellent shape. I do make it a point to clean my gear and lines after each use so I don't know how much of a factor that plays in the overall performance.
