Birthday Outing on 'No-Tellum' Spring Creek
My youngest son and I celebrated my 57th yesterday with a trip to our favorite spring creek. The day was overcast and a PMD hatch was just winding down when we arrived. We caught plenty of fish with two 20-inchers for myself (one brown and one cutthroat) and one 20-inch brown for my son, with a fair amount of smaller fish thrown in for good measure. In all a great day on the water.

Since having a hip replaced and an ankle fused in the last few years, I have had a difficult time wading in the sticky mud of the spring creek. My family took a page out of Nevada's Pyramid Lake and got me a ladder stand for Father's Day last week - it worked like a dream and this was it's maiden voyage:

It was a great day on the water and an even better way to spend a birthday!
