shipping from the UK is going to be steep.
Eric
It would be 39.00 shipped
if this vise is what YOU want, then dont let us stop you from buying it. the decision is yours, not ours.
Really looks quite interesting! Let us know how it works out!!
An interesting looking vise. It's not clear to me how you tighten the jaws as I don't see any screws around the head. I assume the wheel in the back is for rotary.
You might e-mail them to see if they have a US distributor. If not, perhaps others on the board might want one and you could order several and split the costs.
You said $39 shipped. That seems cheap as the vise, at 20 pounds, would be about $30.

Some vises made here in the states on sale with lifetime warranties: http://www.bobmarriottsflyfishingsto...ses-12907.aspx
The Griffins, I am referring to.
I have never heard of a DJS vise before. You could go to a UK fly tying site and ask the people there. If you are set on it, just get it. I ordered a dvd from the UK a few months ago. I couldn't get it in the states. It was cheaper to order it from the UK and ship it, than it was to get in the states, and it was forever on backorder. I would not buy a vise without good reviews. There are good companies in the US, and they are made in the US too...some of them. I happen to have an HMH Spartan, but there are tons of good vises. I have an old Griffin vise, and it holds a hook very well. The only problem is that vise didn't rotate. Good luck with your choice of vise. I hope it does well for you whatever you decide.
