does anyone know WHY certain cane rods have two sets of eye's at 180 degrees to each other?
the rod was made by Gelmar, durban south africa.

I've not seen that personally, but I
would guess that it would have to do with
trying to keep the rod from taking a set
one way or the other. Warm regards, Jim
Jim's right . I've seen it on salt water rods for that reason .

I have a few like that, after a fish was caught the rod would be bent so much in done direction that you would have to flip it and it would bend back. It was the type of bamboo used, sorry I cant remember the type.
