Free Tying Lessons
As much as I like to tie and teach others I gotta do something I aint been wanting to do but after long thought I have decided to not teach fly tying classes fer a good while... Reason being is there are just not enough people serious about learning to make it worth my time... The 2 students that have faithfully attended each class has come a long way in tying skills...

its such a loss ivan thank you for everything youve taught me cant wait to see you again.

I hate to hear that Bugman. You think people would jump at the chance to get free lessons, especially those just starting out.
-
I think a lot of us are just technology deficient. I thought about checking out what you were doing but I don't use Skype or have a camera for my computer.

Hi Bugman,
Why not give the lessons a rest for a couple of months and then see if there is any interest after that period of time. Sometimes you just have to wait for the demand to build up again. Just a suggestion. 8T :)

As a fellow instructor, I can certainly sympathize with your frustration. Give yourself a rest and maybe you will come back to it with a fresh perspective. If not, keep an eye out for someone else to pick up where you left off.
A popular past-time for teachers to complain about their students, but I know I've had the exact same problem. It really doesn't seem like anyone has the time to tie flies any more, or at least that is my explanation.
Good luck.

I may start the lessons back up later on but gonna think on it a while...

The only reason I haven't been doing it lately is (1) that link you gave before wasn't working for me and (2) I was super busy with school. When I have time during summer I would be more than happy to, and I have a buddy that would probably tag along too.

Hi Bugman;
I didn't know you were conducting on line lessons, how does it work? I'd be interested in doing something like that during the winter months, just too busy during the rest of the year. I'm thrilled when I can sit down at my vise once a month during the summer!

Hi Bugman,
I'm with Wayneb. I'd love to take your lessons, but I wasn't aware of them before you posted that you were stopping. If you decide to start again, I'd love to know.
