First trout on Bamboo.

I finally got out and did some trout fishing a few weeks ago. We were going to camp and fish. Headed out Thursday afternoon picked up my friend Pete and hit the road. When we hit Madison, Wisconsin it just started pouring , there were high winds and heavy rains, and tornado warnings. Needless to say were didn't camp that evening, it rained all evening with flash flood warnings though most of Southern Wisconsin. Well we got on the road and scouted some of the area spring creeks all were running very dirty. In our search for clear water we did find a few vineyards so we did some wine tasting. We Finally did find a nice little creek that was running clear, we had head a little farther North. We had a very nice day on the stream catching many trout, both Browns and Brookies on beetle patterns ( fat head beetle and asst. other and on LaFontaine double wings and caddis emergers.) . It was very Hot and humid day. We stopped to take a break and have some dinner and set up camp after we hit the water again and did well. Over night we had some very heavy rains it rained very hard from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM. If the creeks wern't dirty before they were dirty now. We checked the spring creek we had fished before it was dirty but fishable so we decided to give it a rest for a few hours and see if it would clear a little. So we had some breakfast and scouted some more creeks all were very dirty. So we broke camp and fished the little creek again, we did so so . Had some trout but not many as the day before . I think someone else had been through the creek before us. Well I happend to check messages on the phone I had 5 from my wife when I was finally able to get a cell I call home , oh yeah the basement had water in. I asked any trout in it , she didn't think it was to fun. So end of the trip I had to head home a day earlly. All in all a good trip caught some fish drank some wine , and scout some spring creeks. I'm always amazed how dirty a stream will get and how fast it will clear.
