New to South Carolina
Just moved to Pawleys Island and need to learn the tricks of finding fish in saltwater creeks and marsh around Pawleys, Lichfield and Murrells Inlet. Have a good rig and plenty of Clausers, Sea-ducers, shrimp and crab patterns, etc, but need advice on where to look for fish, tides, etc. How about off the beach - say around Middle Inlet or south end of Pawleys?
On foot for now, but will likely get a 'yak or canoe soon.
Surely would appreciate comments and advice.

Welcome to FAOL branchwater, i don't know a thing about fishing the salt but they tell me to fish the outgoing tide. I hope this generates some specific help for you from those close to SC and Pawleys Island.
Cheers,

I'm not meaning to high jack the thread but I'd be interested in some info for the Murrells Inlet area too. I have a trip to the in-laws planned for mid May and I was wondering if it was worth my while to bring along my 8wt. I called the fly shop @ the Myrtle Beach Bass Pro but they couldn't give me much information.

rupshall,
Try giving the Orvis shop in Myrtle Beach a call. Their fly fishing manager is Jan Peele, and if you talk to him, he should be able to give you some advice. He's a very nice guy, and pretty free with information on where and what has been working in the area.

thanks for the leads, guys ...
rgp759 -- Orvis @ Myrtle Beach has a nice selection of fly tying matls. Guess Jan wasn't there last time I was in the store.
