Furled Leaders
I found 2 places on how to make furled leaders and it sounds like you can make them out of tying thread or mono. The instructions I found are not very clear. Does anyone have a good clear step-by-step board construction and leader instruction?
Here are the ones I found and don't really understand parts of it:

Kathy Scott's video is a great instructional video. Her way of making the leaders is simple and fun!

Someone emailed me a board construction a while back and I lost it. Could you send it again? I would like measurements for a short leader 6 or 7 feet. Thanks for the help.

I've recently started making my own furled leaders here and used a 'receipe' from an article I found. I tried to bring up the site again, but it doesn't seem avaible. So I can send you a copy of it via e-mail if you'd like. It gives you step by step instructions and a diagram of how to make the jig also.

Well, I figured it out! I used the second example above. It was a little easier once I got home, made the board, and went through it step by step. I actually have one question. Can I tie a perfection loop on the small end where I will be adding the tippet so that I can use a loop to loop com=nnection? I think that is what I am supposed to do but want to make sure before I tie it in. Thanks

7star, you can use a perfection loop if you wish but The Shorb Loop is better, no knots

Kathy Scott's video shows every step in furling leaders, including making loops at the two ends. There should be no need to tie loop knots.

I use perfect loops on both ends of the ones I make and sell to others unless they say they do not wish for them to be added. later Matt
