My new Orvis Superfine
Picked up a new Orvis Superfine 7' 11'' 4wt 4.5 full flex. I'm looking for recommendation on fly line for this specific rod. I would like to match this rod up with a line that compliments it. Any suggestions from you superfiner's. Thanks

You have chosen wisely.
The rod is not particular as to what line it likes. I think I have used SA AirCel and Cortland 333 on mine...both DT's, 4 wt of course.
If you must spend more money than I on fly lines I'm sure most any quality DT4 would work great.
Just go with the flow of that rod....its a joy to cast.

7star,
The Orvis Superfine Wonderline's are designed to go with the rods. I got one with my Trout Bum. The rod casts and fishes very well with it, although I think it is considered a WF line.

I too have used the superfine line in four weight for a four weight trout bum and have been quite pleased. I believe that Orvis has a special on that line now on their web site.

I would suggest either the Scientific Angler XPS in a WF4F or the Orvis Wonderline Superfine Trout Generation 3 in WF4F. I would maybe steer away from the Orvis Wonderline Advantage because the line tends to crack after little use.

Yesterday I watched a new, new model Superfine 7/11 go on ebay for $155. Somebody got a good buy. I should have bid - - just to get my average cost down.

That was me!!!!! I thought I lost it becasue I was to my max and was tring to increase my maximum bid at the last few seconds (a common tactic on ebay). My connection at home is slower then the one at work and I was too late.... but no one took it. Yes sir I'm the big winner! I wish I could afford the Orvis warrenty though. You know, buy the rod directly from them for twice the price.

Well 7* now I don't feel so bad, you did good. I bought mine on ebay too..some body had a bunch of um that were the old model when they came out with the new ones like you have. I think I paid about $170 and I thought that was one of the best buys I ever made..Are you sure it doesnt have a warrenty card? Mine did.

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of myself and my new Orvis rod. Maybe it does come with the warrenty. The description didn't say anything about it but it did say it was a new rod. I'll find out in a couple of days.
