I will preface this with the fact that I can't tell very well from the picture, so I'm just asking a question. The lips and fins on that fish look more like a drum than a white bass, at least from what I'm seeing. You absolutely positive you have a white bass there?
I caught my share of white bass this spring. I agree with ol' blue. It looks like a drum to me.
yes im shure game warder was checking stringers
I used to catch lots of white bass in the Ohio River in Kentucky. My personal best was 17 1/2 inches. While it was a nice fish I'm sure it weighed in around 3 pounds. The fish the gentleman has in the picture looks more like a drum to me. Also, the fish looks to be a little shy of the 5lb. mark. Like others have suggested, it could be the quality of the picture on my screen.
It looks to me like the nose is turned to far down, dorsal fins wrong and lateral lines missing to be a white bass. And I could be very wrong. Nice fish.
All fins look wrong, dorsal, pec, tail, etc.

I have to agree, maybe the wrong pic was posted... sure doesn't look like a white bass to me! Look at some of these pics: [url=http://www.landbigfish.com/fish/fish.cfm?ID=38&?AID=1255:19ce6]http://www.landbigfish.com/fish/fish.cfm?ID=38&?AID=1255[/url:19ce6]

Specifically, I'm referencing the rear dorsal fins as my identification along with the lips.

Here's a white bass that I caught a while back. I know it's not 5 lbs but it was fun.

Also, that ain't no sandie in the top picture.
