Mustad Hooks
Does anyone know how Mustad Hooks were shipped in the 80's?? I was looking for bear hair on a taxidermy site and this guy bought out a hugh lot of fly tying stuff at a garage sale. The gentleman having the yard sale used to have a fly shop and closed it down.
One of the auctions was for 139,000 + hooks. I bought 2 thousand from him and I've checked them against my Mustad's 94840's and they look exactly alike!!!! Bend the same and I've even tried breaking them and they broke at the same time in the same place. Same thing with the 3399's
Here's a photo of some of the hooks

ive never seen a box of 1000 hooks but i would think it would have the mustad label on it somewhere.
the clear boxes do look like older hook boxes

These are the box's that came inside the cardboard box's, the white cardboard box's were not marked with the Mustad logo.

Mustad Hooks
Fatman, in the 80's Mustad had area distributors, and many of them reboxed hooks for sale to shops and local dealers. I've seen boxes of 10k and 25k hooks that did have the Mustad logo printed on them.

In the early '80s I bought them in small, cardboard boxes of 144.

Told the guy I was waiting for my VA disability check to get some more hooks from him and he says no way and when I got my hooks there were an extra 2 box's of a thousand each in different sizes. Got some thank you flys to get tyed up!!!!!!!!!!!
Man I knew I'd have a need for all those hook box's I've saved over the years, now I break them down into smaller quantities.
