Albright GP rod question
Has anyone tried the Albright 8'6" - 4/5 wt GP rod? I'm thinking this might be a good "bluegill" rod for a friend... Any reviews/experiences would be appreciated.
I have several of their reels. I also have two of their A-5 rods, which I really like.

For bluegill I'd go for a 3wt.
I have the 4wt A-5 and it's plenty strong for bass.

Well, the intended person will probably use this for just about everything, including grass carp, although I've already gifted an 8wt rod & reel for that purpose. But I figured a 4/5 would let the bluegills, crappies & bass fight better than the 8wt.

That it will. Sounds like a good weight for all-round use.

I was kind of wondering what sort of action this rod would have. I suspect it might be F/MF with 4wt line, and more of a "medium" with 5wt line? I think that will suit the intended caster's style well.

I'd day that would be about right. I holds true with my 7/8.
