Huge is an understatement!
That is an unbelieveable redear!
Don't you just love the joyful expression on the guy's face. If I died after landing a fish like that it would take them a week to get the grin off my face. I will bet that fish fought like a fresh water permit. I would like to know the details of his tackle, line, etc.
A friend was recently telling me about a nephew who lives in AZ and wants to be a pro bass fisherman. The nephew told my friend about this fish and said a species of shellfish had been introduced into Lake Havazu and resulted in a good number of these huge redears or as we call them shellcrackers. A similar situation in SC resulted in the previous world record there.
Even given what looks like very long arms on the fisherman, that is a serious monster redear. Wow!
That is a toad! I caught one that was around 11 one time on a cricket, but it wasn't anywhere close to that deep and fat.
If I hooked a redear that size, I would have a heart-attack before I ever got it landed. These things are vicious little demons, and can outfight any fish there is, pound-for-pound.
I bet that was like reeling in a dump truck!
" I caught an 11". ?? 11 What?
