Shorbe Loop
I finally tied my first successful Shorbe Loop today. I've been fighting with arthritis in my neck that affects the thumb, index finger & middle finger of both hands. Needless to say, there are a lot of things my hands used to do that they can't do anymore. The loop I tied today will work, but it looks pretty sloppy. Long story short, I'm going back to using a single overhand knot for the big end of my leader, and using a double overhand to tie tippet to leader. It works fine that way, and I've never had a problem with them.

Lotech: JoAnn Fabric has "Knit-Pickers" which will make the Shorbe Loop a whole lot easier to complete cost less than $2.
I have a spare if they don't have any.... just send me your mailing address and I will have it going out with the next mailing.

One way to make a Shorb Loop using a Knit Picker.

Insert the knit picker through the leader past the latch. Distance from the paper clip will determine the size of the loop

Hook all the strands, remove the paper clip and close the latch.

Pull the hook back through the leader.

Slide the paper clip loop past the latch and hook the loop you have just formed and close the latch

Pull the loop back through the leaders and you have a neat looking Shorb Loop. Slide the loop over a pencil, pen, etc. and pull it up tight.

Thanks you guys. I have a knit picker and used it today. Still a sloppy job. The overhand knot will do the job just fine. So far I haven't snagged a tippet on the knot during my tailing loop casts.
