Furled Extended Body tip
Try adding some clear Stretch Magic to your FEB's....it adds a nice translucence that IMO should be desirable in many patterns...especially midge nymphs...damselfly nymphs.....
In fact, using colored Stretch Cord and clear gives a very nice effect e.g. on Damselfly adult bodies.

OK, Norm...the translucent areas show more as white in the photo...combos of course are limited only by the material you have on hand. I suppose this is not a new idea but it is to me.

Interesting twist ....
.... Duck.
I'm not familiar with the Stretch Magic or Stretch Cord you are referring to. It looks like it incorporates in the furled body very nicely, but has some stiffness to it ?? I'm wondering if you might be able to incorporate tails into the FEB using this stuff. So far the only material that seems to work reasonably well for that application is Angler's Choice Super Floss and similar materials, and the results with those materials are "okay", at best.
With Salmonfly and Golden Stone hatches not all that far away, I'm looking to improve on the flies I used last year. Could you give us some more detail on the the Stretch Magic or Stretch Cord ??
Thanks.
John
