whats "Canadian Loosely" ?
Sounds like it's going to get quite ugly if already not so. Certainly benefits the guide and according to some of the latter posts on the subject, boy do they have it in for us (US).
A great example of ignoring "trickle down" economics. While we're vacationing in Florida, I have had a local ( orange grove owner) tell me he disliked "yankees". I asked him if he liked apples. Perplexed, he said "yes". I told him I'm leaving to buy my oranges elsewhere, NOW HOW DO YOU LIKE DEM APPLES??
I suspect he may have kept his mouth shut to the next yankee with benjamins to spend in Florida.

As it stands in Newfoundland, any non-resident angler must be accompanied by a guide or a direct relative when fishing inland waters and that gets enough flack as it is. I can't imagine implementing this kind of system, if I understand it right. Especially since I'm hoping to move to Vancouver Island in April after I finish University and until I qualify for residency this would mean I wouldn't be able to fish at all? I hope that I'm either misunderstanding the regs or that they don't get implemented. :-(
Things like this happen all over. I wanted to hunt turkey in Idaho. There is no law saying I cant. The license for bird hunting for non res is quite reasonable. However a non res tag for a single Turkey is $62.50
If that isn't exclusion I don't know what is.
It doesn't upset me though, Oh well , Ok I can just hunt turkeys somewhere else. Doesn't bother me.
BTW There's lots of Steelhead streams in BC that aren't affected by this proposal.
Gnu Bee,
A non-resident fishing license for Idaho is around $85. Go figure. That include people that don't even take the fish out of the water. A lot of it is attributable to revenue generation. And if that's not bad enough......I'll probably pay it.
