Hey Ralph, thanks for putting this one up on YouTube.
It is worth looking at for those unfamiliar with the pattern.

Ed,
Thanks much, I appreciate that. It is one of my favorite patterns for sure. Hope that it does well for you also?
Ralph
Great video! Going to have to try those myself!
They do work! I seem to catch a lot of sunfish on them!
They look like brook trout candy to me. They should be effective. Thanks for sharing, I will tie some up too.
Do you ever tie them with a silver body?
Rick
"liver body"....wouldn't that be baitfishing?
.....lee s.
I think the holographic tinsel body is what makes it so effective. ;)
Ralph, I hope you don't mind. I had an idea last week to tie some up, but change up the colors. I was shooting for a white version. White marabou instead of tan, Pearl Magnum Flashabou instead of the Gold Holo Tinsel (tied Mirage tinsel, thought it was too bright/reflective. The Flashabou is almost as bright/reflective), Silver Wire instead of the Gold Wire used in the video, kept the Red Ostrich Herl for gills, and went with some Duck Flank for a soft hackle collar (not the big primo flank feathers, but some small ones that I have a stash of). And a painted White Pearl Tunsten bead.

Double-checking the photo; looks like I need practice with my counter-ribbing. Hopefully the fish don't mine. I want to get one of these flies wet tomorrow.
