Fly Line ID
I picked up a used line spooled on a generic spool with no ID other than the following marking:
C-7PT-NT-WF3F-DO
Anybody have any idea as to what brand it is? I realize it a weight 3 weight forward floating but what are the other markings mean?
May just mean something personal to original owner. I Googled it and could find nothing. The line is a dark olive green color.
Thanks,
Dave

I found a British site where a person posted the following question:
"I have a airflo C-7PT-DL-WF51-SR line that came as a spare with the rod I got."
For some reason that person thought it was an Airflo line. The answer didn't explain anything.

Thanks Larry. That post on the British site went on for three pages and was an interesting read. Apparently the "DO" on the end designated the color which is drab olive. I'll see how it performs.

My thought is that some of the numbers/letters is the manufacturing code that identifies when the line was made so the company can identify returned lines and manufacturing defects to a specific run.

is it possible that the WF3F stands for weight forward 3 weight floating line ad the WF51,sands for weight forward 5 weight intermediate, the I being mistaken for a 1

Maybe a quick e mail to Airflo would either confirm the brand or eliminate one manufacturer.

dave ,
please excuse my stupidity, after responding to your issue I went back and re read your question, and realize you already knew what the line size was , but were just trying to figure out the manufacturer.
sorry

No problem John, I make the same mistake all the time. Now that it appears to be Airflo I will shoot them PM.
