Fly line Connector
For years I used a connector sold by Cabela or Bass Pro Shop. It's a small plastic sleeve about 3/4 inch long. It has a hole on one end for the line and the other end has a hole for the leader. It has a slot in the middle to secure the line and leader. These connectors are no longer carried in the above mentioned catalogs. Does anyone where to buy these?

I know them and used them for a while. They are called "cast connectors". There is a chain called Gander Mountain that sells them. No online store for Gander Mtn however.

Chris

They're hard to find these days.

Hey JC.....
The L2L Connectors have been out for a year or so.
Is there something new that SA is doing to them??? I've never been able to get them apart after they have been clicked together.

I think I have some kicking around here. You are welcome to them, that is if I can locate them.

Cabela's still sells them; in plain and dayglo orange. They are the only things that work on a silk line.

I know Bass-Pro has them in their stores. Didn't know they weren't in their catalog. They are great and I have used them for years. Easy to change tippets(I leave a small tag end hanging out) and I've never had one fail.

I love casting connectors; they are so easy to use. They flow through the guides easily, you and quickly change your leader, they have no water spray when casting and float easily. Most of the time I use the clear ones, but I do use the orange ones if I want a strike indicator.
There are other brands beside eagle claw that I think are a little better, I just can?t remember the name at the moment.
