bringing home a fallen brother

My good friend George is a member and road camptain for the patriot guard here in boise idaho. A long time ago he adked if I ever had time would I come out and support them in what they were doing. Yesterday I did just that. A young brother SGT Devin Daniels gave up his life so we can have our freedom. The patriot guard brought him home. He was 22 years old and left behind a wife and a 7 month old daughter he had never seen before. It was my first experience with this type of thing and I don't know if I will ever do it again. It was a very emotional experience for me. I am proud that I was able to honor this fallen brother and ashamed that I could not do it without being emotional.

If any of you vets or anyone for that matter have a patriot guard in your are join them and honor our brothers and sisters in arms. They can be found at www.patriotguard.org. You don't have to ride to be a member.

You have no reason in the world to be ashamed.

I can only echo what's been said. For me, I would be ashamed if I didn't have emotions.

So far I have helped to build 8 houses for a great organization called Homes For Our Troops. (www.homesforourtroops.org) The 4th one was the one they gave to my youngest son. The Patriot Guards usually accompany the veteran on his first trip to the site build and on the day when the keys to the house are turned over to him. I appreciate that effort and, yes, I also tend to get emotional at these events. But don't let that stop you! I tend to think that there is something wrong with people who fail to get a bit emotional on such occasions.
