I had a leak in my A/C system on my truck, so I put some dye in the system to find it. To see the dye easily, you can get a UV light and glasses at any auto parts store. I found mine at Wal-Mart in the close-outs section for $7. The UV light even came with the batteries!

Loon, the company that makes Knot Sense, also has a UV Mini Lamp. It's about $10.00. The place you bought Knot Sense should have it, or can get it for you.

As already mentioned, Loon sells the light I used in the FOTW piece this week. They offer 2 different models. One is a single "bulb" and the other is the more powerful one with 3 lights. Most fly shops buy Loon products so they could order a light for you. The advantage to the larger 3 beam light is that it cures the Knot Sense much quicker.
It's a GREAT system and I use it nearly every time I sit down at the vise, no matter if it's a saltwater pattern of a small nymph.

The fly is THAT good that it's shown twice on the FOTW page...... http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif
Nice work Jeff!
Thanks for the scoop guys.
I found the little single lamp unit for $10 as predicted and purchased that one. If it doesn't quite do the trick, I'll go back for the 3 lamp unit.
Ya know what else ya can do with an UV lamp?
Find scorpions! Most of us in Scorpion Country (read Arizona) have, at one time or another, found a scorpion in the house. A good way to find them B4 they find you is (after dark of course) turn on the little portable UV lamp and they'll show up like little neon lights. A guy down the street tells me (and I tend to believe him) that he turned the light on the wall outside his back door and he found about 20 of those pesky buggers.
Just my 2 pennies worth for the day.

How many people use this in the field? or just for tying?
