Allen McGees' Book
I am afraid my eye problems have returned, even more frustratingly as
in the meantime I have received a copy of Allen McGees' book
'Tying and Fishing Soft-Hackled Nymphs'. Ii appears from my rather
laboured perusal an excellent book. Except for one point.
While looking through the index, I spotted 'Clyde Style wet fly fishing - page 59.'
Naturally, I went to this page and founf this statement -
'This is a traditional dropper method used by English Clyde Style fishermen......'
Most irritating, the River Clyde is in Scotland and the style is practised by
anglera local to the area.
You may think, grumpy old Scot moans again, you may be right.
I do feel very grumpy at the moment.

Donald,
I'm very sorry to hear your vision problems have returned.
I don't think your being grumpy at all, especially considering the history (William Wallace and all that).
Please keep us informed of your vision problems as you can. You are missed when your absent.
-
Donald,
I'm distressed to learn of the return of your vision problems. As best I can, I'm starting down the trail of the "wee wets", and always look forward to the vast font of information that you provide.
Wishing you well, and a speedy resolution to your trials.

Hi Donald,
Sorry to hear your eye's are acting poorly again. Hopefully they will improve. And no need to apologise, we all should get grumpy when books contain such factual errors. I suspect, hope anyway, that he spent his time fact checking the information pertaining to the flies more than on the geography.
