I like the single foot ceramic in most cases. They are definitely quieter than snakes or single foot wire guides when you shoot or retrieve line. They also hold the line off of the blank, plus I think they just look better.

I like the single-foot wire. Usually Hopkins & Holloway or Recoil. These brands keep the line away from the blank. The PacBay I'm not so fond off - might as well go with snakes.

This subject feel under rod building so here is my take. Single foot guides are a PITA to wrap compared to snakes. Whether their any better? Ive built with both and fished with both.
I like Hopkins & Holloway double foot but have since went with cheaper hardware like generic Cabelas/ Pacific Bay black chrome for that cheap classic cane production rod look, I've also been using cheap chrome boat guides in size 8-10 for my stripping guide again to replicate the cheaper production look on my rods.

Guess you can just call me old fashined but I like the snake guides and besides, I can make them. If I do buy guides however, and I do occasionally, I like the Snake Brand best, and I have used the H&H or some old Davies when I can find them.
