Trumpet Mouth Poppers
Another popper pattern that I have been making this year for topwater fishing is what I call Trumpet Mouth Poppers. I carve the bodies out of balsa wood, insert the hook, color them with markers and sparkly nail polish, and add 3D eyes and a coat of two-part epoxy. When I remove them from the drying wheel, I add the dressing for the tails and they're ready to go. Easy patterns to carve and the loulder pop gets the attention of nearby fish. https://gifyu.com/image/SIbm2

Thank you for the kind words. They're actually pretty easy to make, cast easily, and are effective.

Nice. I work with foam for my poppers, and I haven't tried that particular shape.

Thanks for the compliment. I also work with foam, but find that Balsa gives me a lot more options since I can shape it so easily and it takes markers so well that I can color to whatever pattern I want.Jim
